ISO 11530 Road Vehicles - Hydraulic Jacks - Features

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 11530 standard. The ISO 11530 standard, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), specifies the design and safety requirements and test methods for hydraulic jacks used for changing wheels and installing chains, under normal and modified operating conditions.

ISO 11530 Road Vehicles - Hydraulic Jacks - Features

Although these jacks are primarily designed for use in vehicles with a calculated maximum total mass of over 3,5 tons, they can still be used on smaller vehicles, for example passenger cars with jacking points specially designed for the use of this type of jack.

On delivery the surfaces will be protected against corrosion and all moving parts will be lubricated if necessary. Jacks shall be equipped with suitable means for refilling with hydraulic fluid. The actuation force on the handle must not be greater than 400 N measured at the end of the supplied handle when operated at the rated load. The ramp or roller must be able to be lowered by a forte of less than 400 N when the lowering system is operated.

The head of the jack shall have a rough surface or be designed to resist the load's tendency to slip. The projected area of a flat head should be at least 500 mm² and the minimum dimensions in all directions should normally be 25 mm. Jacks weighing more than 10 kg shall be equipped with a handle to facilitate transport. Jacks shall be equipped with an overtravel device. Jacks equipped with a height adaptive spindle shall be provided with a spindle travel stop.

The jacks shall be equipped with a pressure relief valve adjusted to a pressure corresponding to the rated load and with a tolerance of up to +10%. Some tools will be provided to ensure this valve is stain resistant.

Jacks will be donated with a pressure relief valve suitable for a duct with a rated load and a tolerance of up to +10%. Some utilities will be provided to maintain the stain-proof condition of this valve. Jacks will have different operating systems for lifting and lowering.

The connection between the operating handle and the jack shall be designed so that the handle does not Slip during operation. Similarly, multi-component handles must be protected against unintentional removal.

Jacks should be stored at (24 + 50) °C for 5 hours, then at (-20 & 2) °C for 24 hours, each in the most unfavorable Position as agreed between supplier and customer. No visible leakage is allowed.

The jacks shall be able to raise, stop and lower the rated load 23 times during the full stroke at a temperature of (5 & - 50) °C with the height adaptation shaft turned to its lowest position. There should be a 5 minute pause between each lift. After the final lift and maintaining the rated load for 2 minutes, the height is checked. This will equal the nominal full stroke value specified by the manufacturer.
