ISO 13061-3 Physical and Mechanical Properties of Wood, Part 3: Standard Test for Determination of Final Strength in Static Bending

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 13061-3 standard. ISO 13061-3 specifies a method for determining the ultimate strength of wood in static bending by simply measuring the breaking load applied at the mid span of the supported beam.

ISO 13061-3 Physical and Mechanical Properties of Wood, Part 3: Standard Test for Determination of Final Strength in Static Bending

The main purpose of this international standard is to establish the common international point of the member states of the international standardization organization (ISO) regarding test methods for small transparent wood samples and general requirements for the determination of the physical and mechanical properties of wood.

The ultimate strength in static bending (modulus of rupture) is determined simply by measuring the maximum load required to cause the test piece to rupture under the applied static load at the mid-span of the supported beam.

The test pieces shall be prepared in the form of rectangular prisms with a square cross-section and a grain-wide length of not less than 20 mm x 20 mm.
