ISO 14125 Flexural Properties of Fiber Reinforced Plastic Composites Test Standard

This International ISO 14125 standard specifies a method for determining the flexural properties of fiber-reinforced plastic composites under three-point (Method A) and four-point (Method B) loading.

Standard test specimens are defined, but parameters for alternative specimen sizes are included for use where appropriate. A range of test rates are included.

The bending test is performed by placing the specimen symmetrically on a support fixture mounted on a servo hydraulic or an electromechanical testing machine. The load is applied equally to the specimen at the mid-span for three points and to both loading members for the four-point test, until the specimen breaks or reaches a predetermined deformation value.

Specimen deflection can be measured with a strain gauge, extensometer, or load frame displacement transducer. Measured properties include flexural strength, flexural modulus, and other aspects of the flexural stress relationship. This standard deals with fiber-reinforced thermoset and thermoplastic composite materials.

Among the services provided by our organization within the framework of plastic testing services, there are also ISO 14125 standard tests.
