ISO 1432 Rubber, Vulcanized - Test for Low Temperature Curing

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of ISO 1432 testing. This standard specifies a static procedure known as the Gehman test for determining the relative hardness properties of vulcanized or thermoplastic rubbers over a temperature range from room temperature to approximately -120 °C.

ISO 1432 Rubber, Vulcanized - Test for Low Temperature Curing

Torsional stiffness is measured as a function of temperature, starting at low temperature. Hardness is measured by connecting the test piece in series with a calibrated spring wire and measuring the bending angle of the test piece when the top of the wire is rotated 180°.

It is a torsion apparatus consisting of a torsion head that can be rotated 180° in a plane perpendicular to the torsion wire. The top of the wire is fixed on the torsion head. The lower part of the wire is fixed to the test piece clamp. A device should be provided for "frictionless" indication or angle recording by mechanical or electrical means, allowing proper and exact setting of the zero point. The display or recording system should allow the bending angle to be read or recorded to the nearest degree.
