The weld samples in the truss type prefabricated bed joint reinforcement are straightened and tested on a normal tensile testing machine. Weld samples in ladder-type reinforcement are held at one end in a special gripper and tested on a normal tensile testing machine.

Test system with appropriate load capacity, the load should be measured using an instrument with an error of 2% maximum of the full scale reading. The reading should be such that the maximum load reading or the reading at a sample displacement of 0,1 mm occurs above 20% of the full scale reading, whichever is smaller.

The shear pattern should produce specimens suitable for applying and compressing longitudinal shear stress at or near the weld. At least five samples will be tested.
