This standard specifies a method for determining the color resistivity of textiles of all types and forms, excluding loose fibers exposed to atmospheric nitrogen oxides derived from the combustion of chemically pure butane gas.
The standard can be used to rate the color fastness of dyes by applying the dye to textiles with a specified procedure and a specified color depth and testing dyed textiles.
The change in color is evaluated with the gray scale.
