This international standard specifies a method for determining the thickness loss of textile floor coverings after prolonged, heavy static loading.
It can be applied to all textile floor coverings of the same thickness and structure. It is not applicable to other textile floor coverings unless areas of different thickness or structure are tested separately.
Subjecting a test sample to a prolonged, heavy static loading process, thickness is measured before loading and after various recovery periods.
Samples should be conditioned in standard atmosphere for conditioning and testing textiles specified in ISO 139 and all measurements should be made. Preconditioning in a dry atmosphere is not required prior to standard atmosphere conditioning for testing.
