ISO 14801 Implants - Dynamic Loading Test for Intraosseous Dental Implants

The ISO 14801 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), specifies the dynamic testing method of transmucosal type single post endosseous dental implants with prefabricated prosthetic components.

ISO 14801 Implants - Dynamic Loading Test for Intraosseous Dental Implants

It is most useful for comparing endosseous dental implants of different designs or sizes. This International Standard is not a test of the essential fatigue properties of the materials from which intraosseous implants and prosthetic components are made. This International Standard does not apply to dental implants or magnetic attachments with an intraosseous length of less than 8 mm.

While ISO 14801 simulates the functional loading of an endosseous dental implant under "worst case" conditions, it does not apply to predicting the in vivo performance of an endosseous dental implant or dental prosthesis, particularly if more than one endosseous dental implant is used.

Dental implant systems with and without angled fittings can be examined with this tester, as the axis of the implant can be adjusted at an angle from 0° to 50° to the test axis and quick adjustment for 30°. By placing the dental implant in the roller door, different thread structures can be compensated and the leverage of each implant can be adjusted. The roller door is fixed on the tester by means of a clamping device.

Optionally, tests under physiological (in-vivo) conditions can be performed using the ZwickRoell tempering bath. ZwickRoell offers SAFD (Statistical Analysis of Fatigue Data) for the practical statistical evaluation of vibration tests in the high-speed fatigue zone and in the fatigue life transition area (Long Life Fatigue).

Combined with the dental implant tester (chewing simulator), the dAmsler HC-Compact dynamic tester, with its compact design and very low noise emission, offers an optimal solution for fatigue testing of dental implants in any laboratory.

Complete agreement with "ISO 14801 -07 Dynamic Fatigue Test for Endosseous Dental Implants" (fatigue test on dental implants / chewing simulator) with the simplest operation. Fatigue testing on dental implants can be performed under "physiological" ambient conditions (eg tempered saline) using the ZwickRoell temperature control container.

Among the services provided by our organization within the framework of material testing services, there are also ISO 14801 standard tests.
