Method A is a manual amperometric method included to better define the principles of Karl Fischer measurement. Amperometric methods can be applied to a wide variety of polyols, including those with sufficient color to darken a visual endpoint.
Method B includes an automated amperometric procedure and an automated coulometric procedure. The coulometric procedure is an absolute method that requires no calibration and provides improved precision compared to amperometric methods.
