ISO 2796 Cellular Plastics, Rigid, Dimensional Stability Test

The method proposes a range of temperature and humidity conditions from which one or more desired test conditions can be selected. The term "dimensional stability of a rigid cellular plastic" means that when a test sample of specified size is exposed to specified conditions for a specified period of time, there is no irreversible change in dimensions in each of the three perpendicular directions. In practice, such irreversible changes occur and are measured by the method described in this International standard.

It enables the determination of linear dimensional changes that occur during the regeneration of test samples in certain environments for a certain period of time.

The test specimens shall be machined or cut from the specimen to have a smooth surface without cracks. Foam skins will be removed unless otherwise stated.
