ISO 17234-1 Leather - Test Standard for Determination of Certain Aromatics Obtained from Azo Colorants

Certain azo colorants may, by reductive cleavage of azo groups, release one or more of the following aromatic amines listed in Annex 1907 of EU regulation 2006/8.

According to the available scientific knowledge, the use of prohibited azo colorants in the manufacture or processing of leathers is considered proven if the colored leather yields one or more of the specified amines under the conditions of this procedure. Applicable if the specified amount of one or any of these exceeds 30 mg/kg.

Among the services provided by our organization within the framework of material testing services, there are also ISO 17234-1 standard tests.
