The protocol allows screening of all currently known GM cotton events and is set up to optimize the probability of detection of unknown GM cotton events possibly containing similar DNA sequences. More information is given in CEN/TS 16707.
Sampling is beyond the scope of this document.
A recommended sampling method is given in ISO 6497. General guidance for sampling bulk materials or cotton-based products is available in standards such as ASTM D1441‑12 and CEN/TS 15568.
