ISO 17707 Footwear - Test Methods for Outsoles - Flex Resistance

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of ISO 17707 testing. This standard specifies a method for determining the flexural resistance of outsoles.

ISO 17707 Footwear - Test Methods for Outsoles - Flex Resistance

This method aims to evaluate the effect of base materials and surface patterns on cutting growth. This method is applied to outsoles with a maximum longitudinal hardness of 30 Newtons according to tests.

If the edge of the outsole has risen to its upper surface, such as a lip or imitation edge, this should be carefully cleaned from the forefoot area downwards and not beyond the insole surface.

If the test pieces are outsole units, they must be connected with a standard insole of the correct size and shape, adhered with adhesive and allowed to dry for 24 hours before testing for stiffness and flexural resistance. At least three outsoles should be tested.
