ISO 20418-3 Textiles Qualitative and Quantitative Proteomics Analysis of Some Animal Hair Fibers Part 3: Peptide Detection Without Protein Reduction

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 20418-3 standard. This standard specifies a qualitative and quantitative procedure for determining the composition of animal hair fiber blends (made from wool, cashmere, yak, alpaca, camel or angora) by LC-MS without protein reduction.

ISO 20418-3 Textiles Qualitative and Quantitative Proteomics Analysis of Some Animal Hair Fibers Part 3: Peptide Detection Without Protein Reduction

The composition of non-animal hair fibers can be measured by ISO 1833 (all parts). Both results are combined to determine the total fiber composition.

It is based on preliminary light microscopy identification on the basis of the morphology of all fibers in the blend according to ISO/TR 11827[4]. Not applicable if fibers from the same animal species (such as cashmere and mohair blends) are present.

In this case, quantitative analysis is done using microscopic analysis eg ISO 17751 (all parts).
