SCR converters are particularly suitable for selectively reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions of diesel engines.
To protect the environment and keep air quality as clean as possible, worldwide exhaust emission regulations have been significantly strengthened. Particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in diesel-engined vehicles are the main concern, with a focus on developing technologies that can effectively reduce them with minimal fuel savings penalty.
Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) converters using urea solution as the reducing agent are considered a key technology for reducing NOx emissions. To ensure reliable and stable operation of SCR converter systems, the quality of the urea solution used for this technology needs to be specified. The ISO 22241 series provides specifications for quality characteristics, handling, transportation and storage, and refill interface, as well as testing methods needed by motor vehicle and engine manufacturers, converter manufacturers, manufacturers and distributors.
The quality characteristics of AUS 32 are specified and must be continuously monitored by the manufacturer following a production control plan. Compliance with the limits should be verified by specified test methods or other methods specified by a recognized standard. However, in the event of a dispute, the methods specified will be considered arbitrator's methods.
