This European Standard does not apply to:

  • Mesh-backed products;
  • Ceramic inlays or trim (such as edges, corners, skirting boards, caps, recesses, beads, curved tiles and other accessory pieces);
  • Ceramic tiles made by processes other than extrusion or dry pressing;
  • Dry pressed unglazed ceramic tiles with a water absorption rate of more than 10%;
  • Ceramic tiles used for flooring in exterior road pavements;
  • Ceramic tiles used in ceiling coverings or suspended ceilings.
