EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 2470 standard. ISO 2470 specifies a method for measuring the diffuse blue reflection factor (ISO gloss) of pulp, paper and board.
The scope of ISO 2470 is limited to white and near-white pulps, papers and boards. The measurement can only be made in a device where the ultraviolet energy level of the illumination is adjusted to correspond to the CIE illuminator using a fluorescent reference standard. CIE illuminator C is considered representative of indoor daylight conditions, as it contains an appropriate proportion of UV radiation.
A test piece is diffusely illuminated in a standard instrument and light normally reflected on the surface is either allowed to pass through a defined optical filter and then measured with a photodetector or with an array of photosensitive diodes, to which each diode responds differently.
The effective wavelength The luminance is then determined by calculating directly from the output from the photodetector or from the photosensitive diode outputs using the appropriate weight function.
