ISO 2812-2 Paints and Varnishes - Determination of Resistance to Liquids - Part 2: Immersion Method

This standard specifies a method for determining the resistance of a system of single-layer or multi-layer coating materials to the effects of water by partial or full immersion.

A coated test panel is immersed in water and the effects of immersion are evaluated according to criteria previously agreed between the parties concerned, these criteria are often subjective.

The system or mixing device for the circulation and ventilation of the dry, oil-free pressurized air supply will have the capacity to rinse the entire contents of the tank if a pump is used.

Prepare each test panel as described in ISO 1514 and then coat with the product or system under test by the specified method. Preferably both sides are coated and edges are protected. It should be agreed whether the back of the panel is to be protected with a sufficiently durable coating or whether both sides of the panel are to be covered with the tested coating material.
