Measurements are carried out in laboratory test facilities where sound transmission from the side paths is suppressed. The results of measurements made according to this document cannot be applied directly to the site situation without taking into account other factors affecting sound insulation such as side conduction, boundary conditions and total loss factor.
Provides a procedure for airborne sound insulation measurements according to ISO 10140-4 and ISO 10140-5. For products without specific application rules, it is sufficiently complete and general for the execution of measurements. However, for products with certain application rules, measurements are made according to ISO 10140-1, if any.
