ISO 4288 Geometric Product Specifications (GPS) - Surface Texture - Profile Method - Rules and Procedures for Evaluating Surface Texture

The estimation of the parameter value is calculated using data measured from a sampling length only. An average parameter estimate is calculated by taking the arithmetic mean of parameter estimates from all individual sampling lengths.

For curves and related parameters, an estimate of a parameter value is calculated using measurement data from a curve calculated based on the evaluation length.
