Material Testing

ISO 527-1/2 Test Method for Determining Tensile Properties of Plastic Materials

This standard specifies principles for determining the tensile properties of plastics and plastic composites under defined conditions. Various test specimen types have been defined to suit different material types.

ISO 527-1/2 Test Method for Determining Tensile Properties of Plastic Materials

The methods are used to investigate the tensile behavior of test specimens and determine the tensile strength, tensile modulus, and other aspects of the stress-strain/strain relationship under defined conditions.

Methods selectively;
Rigid and semi-rigid molding, extrusion and cast thermoplastic materials, including filled and reinforced compounds in addition to unfilled types; rigid and semi-rigid thermoplastic sheets and films,

Rigid and semi-rigid thermoset molding materials, including filled and reinforced compounds; rigid and semi-rigid thermoset sheets, including laminates,

Fiber-reinforced thermosets and thermoplastic composites, including unidirectional and non-unidirectional reinforcements such as matting, woven fabrics, woven outriggers, chopped strands, combination and hybrid reinforcement, extruders and ground fibers; sheet made of pre-impregnated materials (prepregs) and

Thermotropic liquid crystal polymers are suitable for use with materials.

The methods are not suitable for use with rigid cellular materials or sandwich structures containing cellular materials, for which ISO 1926 is normally used.

Testing services are provided by EUROLAB to enterprises within the scope of the ISO 527-1/2 Test Method for Determining the Tensile Properties of Plastics, within the framework of plastic testing services.
