ISO 5360 Anesthetic Vaporizers — Test Standard for Agent-Specific Filling Systems

The ISO 5360 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes the basic safety and performance characteristics and test methods of substance-specific filling systems in anesthetic evaporative systems.

ISO 5360 Anesthetic Vaporizers — Test Standard for Agent-Specific Filling Systems

ISO 5360 specifies requirements, including dimensions, for substance-specific filling systems for substance-specific anesthetic vaporizers. ISO 5360 does not specify construction materials.

Due to the unique properties of desflurane, the dimensions of this agent are not specified in this International Standard. Designs of attachment systems that allow the substance-specific bottle adapter to be attached to the bottle only with the bottle ring in place are encouraged.

According to this standard, the substance-specific filling system refers to the functional system of agent-specific coded connections between an anesthetic vial and an agent-specific anesthetic vaporizer, for example a threaded bottle neck consisting of a collar, threaded connector, male adapter and filling cup.
