EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN 14621 testing. This European standard specifies test methods for the quality control of textured and untextured multifilament synthetic yarns.
It includes the following test methods:
The crimp of a textured filament yarn sample in the shape of a skein of known nominal linear density is developed by treating the sample with hot air while subjecting it to a low tensile force.
After regeneration, the straightened length of the skein is measured under a high tensile force. After a certain recovery time, the contracted length of the hank, which is shortened by the effect of yarn crimp, is measured under low tensile force.
A spool with a diameter of (1 000 ± 2,5) mm is used to wind the hanks of yarn. The reel must be equipped with a device to provide the specified tensile force per unit linear density to the wound material with the greatest possible accuracy and to maintain separation between several simultaneously wound hanks.
