ISO 899 Abrasion Test, Creep Test on Plastics

Creep test specimens are subjected to a static load. This corresponds to the load state of many components made of plastic. During testing, usually over a 1000 hour period, the elongation of the specimen is recorded. From these data, creep curves can be generated that provide a graphical representation of the long-term behavior of plastics.

In modern creep test systems, specimen expansions are determined optically with the aid of high-precision video measuring systems placed behind the test axes, thus providing the operator with free front access.
