Cationic Active Substance Test Standard

Cationic surfactants are used in many of the daily used cleaning chemicals. Cationic surfactants are not found in normal detergents or are present in very small amounts. These substances are used in fabric softeners, liquid dishwashing detergents, carpet washing shampoos and hair shampoos.

The most used product is bleach. These substances, which are positive charge carriers in the active part of the molecule, have low dirt and stain removal power. For this reason, it is used in products such as fabric softener, carpet perfume or softener after washing in the detergent industry. Apart from these, it is possible to come across cationic active substances in some personal care products. Hair care products and shampoos are products where cationic surfactants are used outside of the detergent sector.

Cationic active substance analysis test must be carried out in accordance with the Communiqué on the Biodegradability Rate of Anionic, Nonionic, Ampholytic, Cationic Surfactants in Detergents and the Biodegradability Rate of Anionic and Nonionic Surfactants in Detergents issued by the Ministry of Health.
