ISO 11093-6 Paper and Cardboard, Testing of Cores, Part 6: Standard Test for Determination of Flexural Strength by the Three-Point Method

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 11093-6 test standard. ISO 11093-6 specifies a three-point method for determining the flexural strength of cylindrical plate cores meeting the following criteria:

ISO 11093-6 Paper and Cardboard, Testing of Cores, Part 6: Standard Test for Determination of Flexural Strength by the Three-Point Method

  • Inner diameter: 50mm to 300mm;
  • Minimum wall thickness: 5 mm;
  • Minimum test length (opening) of the core: 1100 mm.

The core test piece is considered a "beam" in the mechanics of the materials approach. During testing, the test piece is only stretched by a vertical force (F) at the midpoint of its length while being supported at both ends. To determine the flexural strength, tension is applied until the test piece breaks.
