EN 15836-1 Standard Test for Plastics, Plasticized Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC-P) Membranes for Underground Swimming Pools

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 15836-1 standard. This European standard specifies the visual, dimensional, mechanical and durability properties of plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-P) homogeneous membranes with a nominal thickness of 0,75 mm or greater for use as liners for underground swimming pools.

It also specifies the characteristics of the composition of the PVC-P used to manufacture the membranes. It is particularly applicable to homogeneous membranes intended for use in swimming pools where the water temperature is equal to or lower than 28°C. This standard applies if the membrane manufacturer allows a water temperature that is constantly maintained above 28°C.

PVC-P compounds are recyclable materials that can be processed in a material recovery process that aims to conserve resources while minimizing harmful emissions to air, water and soil and their impact on human health.

An area of ​​the PVC-P membrane with a minimum length of 2 m and as large as the membrane itself will be visually inspected. Inspection shall be made on samples from both sides of the membrane taken randomly from a roll placed tension-free on a flat, opaque surface.
