This European standard specifies the characteristics of metal frame components (e.g. profiles, hangers and connectors) intended for use in building construction, together with gypsum boards and reprocessed gypsum board products manufactured according to EN 520, EN 15283 1 and EN 15283 2.
It complies with EN 14190 when the assembly is not load bearing. Such assemblies include, for example, partitions, wall and ceiling cladding, ceilings with mechanically fixed plates, and beam, column, channel and shaft linings.
The test configuration should be chosen so that the largest displacement at the loading point and the minimum load capacity are expected. Cross-pull or bending may need to be accounted for.
For suspension components designed to be compressed, the tests shall be carried out under a compressive load for which the length of the suspension component is to be taken into account.
