This standard should be taken into account if regional or national regulations prohibit the distribution of oxygen and nitrous oxide mixtures in medical gas pipeline systems. The anesthetic gas cleaning system falls within the scope of the ISO 7396‑2 standard. The EN 7396-1 standard includes requirements for interchangeability between supply systems, pipeline distribution systems, control systems, monitoring and alarm systems, and components of different gas and vacuum systems.
