EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 794-3 standard. This part of this European standard specifies requirements for ventilators driven by a power source and intended for emergency and transport use.
This encompasses a range of devices, from relatively simple ventilators primarily intended for use with a face mask and for limited periods of time (eg, gas powered ventilators) to devices for pre-planned long-term use. This includes gas-powered resuscitators, which are often used by first responders.
This section does not cover operator-operated ventilators (ie, manual resuscitators). Aircraft ventilators are likely to be subject to additional requirements and national/international regulations.
Additional chapters, such as lung ventilators for critical care, home care ventilators, operator-operated resuscitators, and recent developments such as jet and ultra-high frequency ventilation and oscillation have been published or are being evaluated.
