EN 62494-1 is applicable to digital X-ray imaging systems used in general radiography to produce projection X-ray images for general applications such as:
Image intensifier-based systems and systems for mammographic or dental application are not included in this first edition. EN 62494-1 defines the exposure index for images created with only a single exposure event. Images created from multiple exposures (for example, tomosynthetic or dual energy images, multiple views on a single CR plate) are not included.
