Throttle valves are used to control pressure differences in the test section. There are no restrictions on the style of these valves. However, its own flow valve must have sufficient capacity and may be larger than the nominal size of the test specimen, so this capacity must be ensured. In test standards for compressible flow, the desired flow can be achieved.
All pressure and differential pressure measurements should be made using instruments with an accuracy rating of ± 2% of the actual output reading. Pressure gauges should be calibrated as often as necessary to maintain specified accuracy.
If separate pressure measurements (p1, p2) are used instead of a single differential pressure measurement (∆p), care should be taken to select instruments that are accurate enough to allow the calculated pressure difference value (p1 – p2) to be known with an error.
