UL 61965 Mechanical Safety Test Standard for Cathode Ray Tubes

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance service within the scope of UL 61965 standard. This International standard applies to cathode ray tubes and cathode ray tube assemblies (hereinafter referred to as CRTs) intended for use as components.

These requirements apply to CRTs intended for use in apparatus, including electrical and electronic measurement and test equipment, information technology equipment, medical equipment, telephone equipment, television equipment, and other similar electronic apparatus.

This standard is intended to apply only to CRTs where the face of the CRT forms part of the apparatus housing. Test methods do not apply to CRTs protected by separate security screens.

A CRT covered by this standard is designed to be mounted in a housing designed both to protect the back of the CRT from mechanical or other damage under normal operating conditions and to protect the user against particles thrown backwards from the CRT face.

This standard contains requirements for CRTs diagonal 76 mm and larger with explosion protection systems that protect against the hazards of particles ejected beyond the face. There is no intended protection against particles ejected in other directions.
