EN 1254-4 Copper and Copper Alloys - Standard Test for Threaded Fittings

These threaded ends are available with metallic and non-metallic seals for joining with tubes, pipes, fittings or valves, threaded ends sizes from 3,175 mm (1/8) to 101,6 mm (4). Threaded fittings are designed for a service life of up to fifty years.

Threaded fittings can also have flanged end connections according to EN 1092-3. Threaded fittings may also have a veneered or other decorative surface finish. Fittings can be produced by machining, metal forming, casting or fabrication.

Products conforming to this standard can be used for many liquids, including the transport of water intended for human consumption, if they comply with the relevant national, regional or local regulatory provisions applicable at the place of use.

Connection size combinations are possible within a test rig. The minimum distance between the tested connector and each end of the assembly should be 100 mm. Adapter fittings used to connect test piping, for example to a pump, may also be considered test fittings.

• Closed heating systems according to EN 12828;

Gas applications:

• Natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas systems with a maximum working pressure equal to or less than 1775 bar according to EN 5;
• Compressed air systems.
