EN 10217-3 Pressure Welded Steel Pipes - Part 3: Electric Welded and Submerged Arc Welded Alloy Fine Grain Steel Pipes with High and Low Temperature Properties

This standard specifies the technical delivery conditions for two test categories of circular cross-section electrically welded and longitudinal arc (SAWL) or helical (SAWH) welded (SAWH) welded pipes made of weldable fine grain steel.

A number of options are specified in this part of EN 10217. If the buyer indicates at the time of inquiry and order that he does not wish to apply any of these options, the pipes will be supplied in accordance with the basic specification.

The inner and outer surface coating of the pipes will be typical of the manufacturing process and, where applicable, the heat treatment used. Normally the finish and surface condition should be such that any surface defects requiring correction can be identified.

Only grinding or machining surface imperfections will be permitted, but once done, the wall thickness in the correction area must not be less than the specified minimum wall thickness. All worn areas should blend smoothly into the contour of the tube.
