EN 27627-3 Hard Metals Standard Test for Chemical Analysis by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

This part of EN 27627 specifies the method to be used to determine the Cobalt, iron, manganese and nickel0 contents of hard metals in the range of 0,5 to 1% (mlm) by flame atomic absorption spectrometry.

General requirements for application area, principle, interfering elements, apparatus, sampling and test report are given in ISO 7627-1.

Add 10 ml of water, 5 ml of hydrofluoric acid, and then add 5 ml of nitric acid, dropwise, into the beaker containing the test portion and gently heat until the test portion is completely dissolved. Add 10 ml of cesium chloride solution and 10 ml of the mixture of ammonium fluoride solution, then transfer the solution completely into a 100 ml polypropylene single-marked measuring flask and dilute to the mark.

Prepare at least six solutions with a matrix composition as similar as possible to the test portion to be analyzed, but without completing the volume. Then add increasing volumes of appropriately diluted stock solutions of the elements to be determined according to the concentration ranges to be coated. Make up to 100 ml and mix.
