This standard specifies tolerances on the dimensions and shape of aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded square bars with widths from 10 mm to 220 mm along the blades.
For the purposes of this standard, alloys are divided into two groups corresponding to varying difficulties during the manufacture of products. Square extruded bars can be delivered in arbitrary lengths unless a fixed or minimum length is specified in the order document. Actual lengths and tolerances on arbitrary lengths are to be agreed between supplier and buyer.
Flatness tolerances apply to square bars in all tempers except O and Tx510. If a flatness tolerance is required for O or Tx510 annealing, it must be agreed between supplier and purchaser.
