EN 755-9 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys - Extruded bar - Part 9: Profiles - Standard Test for Size and Form Tolerances

This European standard specifies the tolerances on dimensions and form for aluminum and aluminum alloy extruded profiles with a cross-section in a circumferential circle not greater than 800 mm. The temper designations used in this section comply with EN 515. This European standard only applies to extruded profiles for general engineering applications.

For the purposes of this standard, alloys are divided into two groups corresponding to varying degrees of difficulty during the manufacture of products.

Average diameter is defined as the average of two diameter measurements taken at right angles to each other at any position along the length. The maximum allowable deviation of the diameter from the specified diameter at any point is the maximum difference measured at any point along the length of the pipe, i.e. it includes any ovality in the cross section.

If EN 755-1 does not clearly specify the nature of the required diameter tolerances in the original order, the supplier will interpret them to include any ovality (ie the maximum allowable deviation from the specified at any point). However, if specifically requested by the buyer, diameter tolerances can be expressed as both mean and inclusive of ovality.
