EN ISO 17635 Non-Destructive Testing of Welds - General Rules for Metallic Materials

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN ISO 17635 testing. EN ISO 17635 gives guidelines for the selection of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for welds and the evaluation of results for quality control purposes, based on quality requirements, material, weld thickness, welding process and test scope.

EN ISO 17635 also specifies general rules and standards to be applied to different types of testing for the methodology or acceptance level for metallic materials.

Acceptance levels cannot be a direct interpretation of the quality levels defined in ISO 5817 or ISO 10042. These are linked to the overall quality of the weld batch produced.

The requirements for acceptance levels for NDT conform only to the quality levels specified in ISO 5817 or ISO 10042 (medium, moderate, stringent) in general and not in detail for each indication. An additional grade gives correlations between NDT and acceptance level standards.

A second appendix provides an overview of quality levels, acceptance levels and standards associated with NDT methods.
