This European Standard specifies requirements for continuous hot-dip coated products made of low carbon steels coated with zinc (Z), zinc-iron alloy (ZF), zinc-aluminum alloy (ZA), aluminum-zinc alloy (AZ) for cold forming.
This European Standard applies to strips of all widths and sheets cut therefrom (= 600 mm width) and cut lengths (< 600 mm width).
If agreed at the time of request and order, this European Standard is also applicable to continuous hot-dip coated flat products > 3,0 mm thick. In this case, mechanical property, coating adhesion and surface condition requirements will also be agreed upon at the time of request and order.
Products covered by this European Standard are mainly used where cold formability and corrosion resistance are the most important factors. The corrosion resistance of the alloy is proportional to its coating thickness and therefore its mass.
