EN ISO 4783-1 Industrial Wire Screens and Woven Wire Cloth - Guide for Selecting Combinations of Aperture Size and Wire Diameter - Part 1: General Information

It tabulates an extensive range from which groups of preferred combinations can be selected. The percentage of open area for each combination is indicated. The percent open area (A) of each aperture/wire combination is indicated to aid in the evaluation of a combination for screening purposes.

EN ISO 4783-2 gives the preferred combinations for woven wire cloth and EN ISO 4783-3 gives the preferred combinations for pre-crimped or pressure-welded wire screens.

It is applied to industrial woven wire cloth with square openings, made of steel, stainless steel or non-ferrous metals. It does not apply to post-coated woven wire fabrics or pre-crimped and welded wire mesh within EN ISO 4783-3 and EN ISO 14315.

There is limited application to woven wire cloth used for purposes other than screening which may require other requirements. Alternative requirements can be agreed between the buyer and supplier at the time of ordering.

The supplier and buyer must agree on the number and nature of major defects allowed per unit area of ​​the wire mesh. The percent yield of the wire cloth will be agreed with the buyer and will vary according to the hole width and size of the piece of woven wire cloth.
