EN ISO 4783-2 Industrial Wire Screens and Woven Wire Cloth - Guide for Selecting Combinations of Aperture Size and Wire Diameter - Part 2: Preferred Combinations for Woven Wire Cloth

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN ISO 4783-2 testing. It tabulates the values ​​taken from the general combination list given in EN ISO 4783-1. Applies to aperture sizes from 16mm to 0,02mm.

This is the first International Standard for woven wire cloth for industrial purposes; these specifications are a compromise that takes into account existing national standards. IS0 Member Organizations are solemnly requested to further rationalize to reduce the number of wire diameters per aperture width over the next 5 years, without excluding the option to increase the number of preferred apertures.

There is limited application to woven wire cloth used for purposes other than screening which may require other requirements. Alternative requirements can be agreed between the buyer and supplier at the time of ordering.

The wire cloth may be made from any primary metal or metal alloy wire suitable for weaving. Wire meshes are specified as the regular double crimped square knit wire cloth spacing (expressed by the mesh) and the normal void cloth spacing (expressed by the width span).

Technical requirements for wire mesh include:

• Wire tolerances;
• Wire cloth tolerances;
• Wire cloth defects;
• Delivery requirements.

Testers for counting webs or measuring irregular openings shall comply with tolerance values.
