EN ISO 6892-2 Metallic Materials, Tensile Test, Part 2: High Temperature Test Method

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN ISO 6892-2 standard. This standard specifies the method of tensile testing of metallic materials at temperatures higher than room temperature.

EN ISO 6892-2 Metallic Materials, Tensile Test, Part 2: High Temperature Test Method

This standard describes two speed test methods. First, Method A is based on strain rates (including crosshead separation ratio) with tight tolerances (±20%), and second, Method B is based on conventional strain rate ranges and tolerances.

Method A aims at minimizing the variation in test velocities and minimizing the measurement uncertainty of the test results as soon as strain rate sensitive parameters are determined.

Traditionally, mechanical properties determined by tensile tests at elevated temperatures have been determined at a slower strain or stress rate than room temperature. This standard recommends the use of slower strain rates, but in addition, higher strain rates are permitted for certain applications, such as comparison with room temperature specifications at the same strain rate.
