EN ISO 8492 Metallic Materials, Tube, Flattening Test

The width of the plates should exceed the width of the test piece after flattening, ie at least 1,6 D, and the length of the plates should extend over the entire length of the test piece.

When the test is performed at the end of a full length pipe, the pipe shall be cut at right angles to the axis of the pipe to a depth of at least 80% of the outside diameter of the pipe. The cut shall be at a distance equal to the length of the test piece from the end of the pipe.
