Applicable to seamless steel pipes of circular cross-section made of non-alloy quality steel. These cylinders are provided for general pressure purposes, including the transport of pressurized liquids. There are standards and rules that allow the use of these tubes at temperatures up to 350°C.
Steels intended for the manufacture of pipes covered by this part of EN IS0 9329 are generally considered weldable. However, it must be taken into account that the behavior of steel during and after welding depends not only on the steel, but also mainly on the conditions in which the weld is prepared and carried out, and the end use of the steel.
If tubes are to be delivered in random lengths, their lengths will be within normal production ranges. The respective length ranges depend on the diameter and wall thickness of the pipe and the manufacturer's production facilities.
When specific inspection is required, the delivery will be divided into lots. A batch is formed from pipes with the same or similar outside diameter, the same or similar wall thickness, the same steel grade, the same manufacturing process, and the same heat treatment conditions.
Samples shall be taken in accordance with IS0 377. Samples shall be taken from test pieces used for verification of mechanical properties or from boreholes made through the entire thickness of the pipe at the same location as the mechanical test samples.
