ISO 15630-3 specifies test methods applicable to the prestressing of steels (bar, wire, rope) for concrete. The purpose of ISO 15630 is to provide all applicable test methods for the strengthening and prestressing of steels in a single standard. Therefore, existing international standards for testing these products have been revised and updated.

Unless otherwise agreed or specified in the product standard, parts will normally be taken from the finished product prior to packaging. When sampling the packaged product, special care should be taken to avoid plastic deformation that could alter the properties of the samples used to provide the test pieces.

Special supplementary provisions for test pieces may be specified, if any, in the relevant clauses of this part of ISO 15630. The difference between the crosshead measurements is calculated as a percentage of the original distance between the crossheads and this value is added to the percentage obtained with an extensometer.
