ISO 1811-2 Copper and Copper Alloys - Selection and Preparation of Samples for Chemical Analysis - Sampling of Forged Products and Castings

This part of ISO 1811 specifies methods for the selection and preparation of samples for chemical analysis of copper and copper alloys in the form of forgings and castings.

The methods specified in this part of ISO 1811 apply to copper and copper alloys of the following shapes and are intended to determine compliance with the requirements for their chemical composition:

Sheet, strip, bar, pipe, profile, forged products, etc. including;
Sand castings, cold castings, die castings, continuous castings, centrifugal castings.

The methods are intended to determine compliance with chemical composition requirements. Along with ISO 1811-1 and 1811-3, this part of ISO 1811 repeals and replaces the ISO R 1811 Recommendation for which it constitutes a technical revision.

Sampling units will be randomly selected from the lot. If sampling units are to be taken from the final products, arrangements will be made to provide the required excess length or amount of material.

By agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, sampling units taken during casting or broken tensile test pieces or other physical test pieces may be used as sampling units instead of product sampling units.
