The ISO 3800 standard, developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), describes the conditions for testing screw fasteners under axial load and recommendations for evaluating the results. If there is no other demand, the tests are done in fluctuating voltage type and are carried out at room temperature. Therefore, the minimum requirements are specified in the standard to reduce this effect. In addition, the standard scope includes calibration and centering control methods for the test apparatus.

In addition to the recommendations for the evaluation of the results, the TS ISO 3800 standard covers the conditions for the performance of fatigue tests on screw fasteners under axial load.

This test method allows the fatigue strength of the screw fasteners to be determined.
