EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of ISO 4548 standard. This standard specifies tests to determine the flow characteristics of differential pressure of full-flow lubricating oil filters for internal combustion engines.
The tests are specified with oils of two viscosities, one to evaluate the performance of a filter containing cold oil and the other to evaluate its performance with an oil at a typical operating temperature.
The scope of this document is limited to steady state conditions and does not address fluctuations in flow rate. The test procedure determines a filter's contaminant capacity, particle removal properties, and differential pressure. This test is designed to filter elements with less than 10% efficiency at particle size greater than 99 μm. A few test flow cycles or several test rigs built on a test machine will cover the complete flow range from 2l/min to 600/min.
Line particle counting method engines are used to evaluate the performance of continuous pollutant injection and internal combustion full-flow lubricating oil filters. The ISO 4548 standard is used to measure the contaminant capacity, particulate removal properties and differential pressure of a filter.
