ISO 4136 Destructive Experiments on the Sources of Metallic Materials - Transverse Tensile Test

Developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), the ISO 4136 standard describes a destructive (destructive) test method on welds in metallic materials. This standard was published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute with the following title: TS EN ISO 4136 Destructive tests on the sources of metallic materials - Transverse tensile test.

ISO 4136 Destructive Experiments on the Sources of Metallic Materials - Transverse Tensile Test

This international standard describes the dimensions of the tested specimen and a transverse tensile test method to determine the breaking strength and fracture location of a welded joint. ISO 4136 standard is applied for metallic materials of any form with joints made by any fusion welding process. Unless otherwise specified in this standard for certain points, the general principles of the ISO 6892 Metallic materials tensile testing standard apply.

During the test, an increased tensile load is applied until a rupture occurs in a test sample transverse from a welded joint. Unless otherwise stated, these tests should be performed at an ambient temperature of 23 +/- 5 degrees. Mechanical or thermal processes used to take the test sample should not alter the properties of the test sample in any way. Test results are determined according to ISO 6892 standard.

In addition to the information disclosed in the ISO 6892 standard, the test report to be prepared at the end of the tests must include information such as the type of the test sample, its location and, if necessary, the sketch, the temperature test result if the test was performed outside the ambient temperature, the location of the fracture in the material, and the shape and dimensions of the defects observed in the material.

The ISO 4136 standard was first developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) and its last update was in 2012. This organization has been recognized as the UK's national standards body for more than 100 years. Committees design the British, European and international standards. work together to make it easier.

Among the services provided by our organization within the framework of metallic testing services, there are also ISO 4136 standard tests.
